Netflix Sprint and Dreams of a Life

Sprint and the Mystery of Dreams of a Life

This episode features two documentaries: Netflix’s Sprint and Amazon Prime’s Dreams of a Life

Sprint

The docuseries following elite American sprinters like Noah Lyles, Sha’Carri Richardson, and Fred Kerley on their road to the Paris 2024 Olympics. It also features Caribbean athletes life Julien Alfred, Shericka Jackson and Kishane Thompson. Mikelah breaks down the personalities, rivalries, throughout the series. Despite spotlight moments from Caribbean athletes, the doc’s American focus leaves out the rich, world-class sprinting culture of the Caribbean.

Dreams of a Life

This documentary is the unsettling true story of Joyce Vincent, a woman born to Caribbean parents in the UK who was found dead in her apartment—three years after her death, with the TV still on.

How could someone disappear for years without anyone noticing? The documentary reveals how Joyce lived a fragmented life, keeping friends, family, and lovers in separate worlds. Despite being admired for her beauty and charisma, her inner world remained a mystery—even to those closest to her.
