Unveiling Our Enhanced Rating System!

In this episode, we are excited to introduce some fresh updates to our rating system, making our reviews even more in-depth and authentic to the Caribbean experience. As a show dedicated to reviewing TV, film, and concerts through a Caribbean lens, we’re passionate about ensuring that the unique essence of Caribbean culture is recognized and appreciated on screen.

What’s New in Our Rating System?

In addition to our original categories of Accent, Character Development, and Storyline, we’re adding two new categories to highlight key elements of Caribbean authenticity:

Music & Sound: Since rhythm is in our name, it’s only fitting that we include a rating for soundtracks and music. This category looks at how well the music supports the storyline and whether it authentically aligns with Caribbean vibes and culture.
Visual Authenticity: Does the setting capture the look and feel of Caribbean culture? Whether a show is set in Jamaica, Brooklyn, or Miami, this new category examines the accuracy and atmosphere of the visuals, adding a deeper level to our reviews.

Why This Matters

Caribbean culture is rich, diverse, and deeply rooted in storytelling. Our new categories aim to celebrate this uniqueness while highlighting how sound, and visuals contribute to a show or film’s authenticity. From Champion and Three Little Birds to mainstream hits, we’re here to share our takes on what feels true to the culture and what falls short.
