June is Caribbean Heritage Month
There’s so much richness in our culture that we must celebrate. And while we celebrate our Caribbean heritage all year round it’s good to be officially recognized for our contributions. Whether it is in business, education, literature, sports, entertainment and overall cultural contributions.
Entrepreneurs
The Carry On Friends Interview Series has featured several Caribbean American entrepreneurs and there’s more to come. Previously featured entrepreneurs include:
Andrew Clarke
Tanayia Woolery
Nadia Vassell
Mikelah Rose
Ginger-vee Carter
Other Caribbean American Entrepreneurs that we admire include:
Alsion Roach

…Just to name a few:
Authors
Caribbean American authors tell stories that allow us to see representations of ourselves and our culture in literature as told through the views of the regions many writers both discovered and undiscovered. A few of our favorite authors include:
Elizabeth Nunez
Elsie Augustave
Dionne Peart
Marlon James
Just for Laughs
In addition to sharing my experiences and lessons in business and career , I share some of the funniest moments of my life as a Caribbean American. Like “every Caribbean child’s worst nightmare” – Mommy Mash Up the Party.
This year again I will be participating in Rewind And Come Again’s annual blog carinval by my Caribbean-American Sistren, Alysia S, Christiani. I will be contributing either an article, podcast or both to the Carnival in celebration of Caribbean American Heritage Month.
I am proud of my Jamaican/Caribbean American Heritage.
